Deceased from a heart attack in his home in Montral at the age of 61 years and 5 months.
He had a long battle with cancer and was taking chemotherapy for a spreading reoccurence at the time of death. He had no prior cardiac history.
"I have left you in tears but console yourself in the knowledge that even though seperated, we are still united. Don't forget me. I beg prayers from all who have known and loved me.
Jos was a member of the Deer clan of the Metis tribe of Wabanaki Nation.
My loose translation of above note found on inside cover of coffin lid:
Your death, Jos, is not insignificant. It is a privelege to have known you and to honor you.
Requim en Pace, Jos (Colomb)
